Hiring Place House Hall
Place House is regularly hired for classes, workshops and family celebrations and can be booked by the hour or for a full day.
The hire space comprises the main hall, a panelled parlour, a small kitchen and a toilet area with disabled toilet and baby changing. The Hall has disabled access and free wifi. The historic main hall can accommodate approximately 50 seated at tables, 60 theatre style and 70 standing. While there is no on-site parking there is free supermarket parking and pay-and-display parking within a few minutes walk and hirers have access to one space within Bluecoat Yard for dropping off equipment or supplies.
Kitchen
The Hall has a small kitchen which is well equipped and includes hob, oven, fridge, microwave, urn, kettles, cutlery, cups, saucers, mugs, small plates and tumblers. There is a convenient serving hatch into the main hall. There is no dishwasher.
Alcohol licence
If you wish to sell alcohol at your event you will need to apply to East Herts Council for a Temporary Event Notice. If you are giving the alcohol away you do not need a licence.
Tables & chairs
The Hall has 14 trestle tables of varying sizes and 70 chairs
Amplified music and voices
Owing to the close proximity of the neighbours our Premises Licence does not permit the use of any sort of amplification. Background music from a small speaker is allowed.
Screen and projector
We have a pull-down screen and projector available by arrangement.
