Cost - Ceremony
A ceremony at Place House Hall includes:
- Exclusive use of the Hall
- Ceremony in the medieval hall for up to 50 people
- Use of our elegant panelled parlour before the ceremony
- A glass of prosecco* for you and your guests in the garden
- Use of our charming courtyard garden for photographs
- A rehearsal/run-through the evening before
- Wedding co-ordinator support throughout
- Time the evening before to decorate the hall
- Chair covers and optional sashes, table linen
Total cost £800
Please note this does not include the registrars fee which is paid directly to Hertfordshire County Council.

Reception Add-on
If you would like to make the most of the unique and historic surroundings of the hall you are welcome to stay and host your reception at Place House Hall. We will turn the room around and then leave you to your celebrations. We can recommend a caterer or you can cater yourselves from our small kitchen.
To include:
- Venue turnaround from ceremony to reception to your plan*
- Use of the hall until 10pm (9pm on Sundays)
- Use of bluetooth speaker (optional)
- Use of glasses, crockery, cutlery and our kitchen area
- Wedding co-ordinator on call throughout your reception
- Clearing away of tables/chairs afterwards by our team**
£160 per hour plus refundable £200 surety deposit
*Table linen not included for reception
** Please note you or your caterer would be responsible for washing any dishes and leaving the hall clean, tidy and secure.
Confetti
Real flower petals (fresh or dried) only please as we wish to keep our lovely community garden litter free, thank you.
Flowers & Decorations
You are welcome to decorate the hall as you wish with flowers, fairy lights etc and you can discuss your preferences with us. We have an in-house florist or you can use the florist of your choice, or arrange the flowers yourself. We prefer arrangements that don't include floral foam which is a single-use plastic, but the choice is yours.
Music Make your ceremony even more personal with your own music choices. We can provide a bluetooth speaker for you to use, and we recommend you appoint a guest to take responsibility for this on the day. We are also very happy for live (unamplified) musicians to play and this should be discussed when booking to ensure they can be accommodated. Due to the close proximity of our residential neighbours we are unable to accommodate DJs, brass instruments, amplifiers or microphones, sorry.
DogsWell-behaved dogs belonging to the couple, and assistance dogs, are welcome to join you on your special day. Please mention this when booking.
