NEW GARDEN FOR PLACE HOUSE HALL

The Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust is pleased to announce that Awards for All, part of the National Lottery, has awarded a grant of £9,600 to create an Educational Community Garden for Place House Hall – Ware’s significant, grade I listed medieval hall.

The current garden has become very over grown and is in need of regeneration. The Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust has run a competition for student / trainee garden designers to design a medieval themed garden which will enhance this important building whilst being educational and accessible to all. The winning design will be used for the new garden.

Once the garden is completed, in mid 2009, the Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust hopes to attract volunteers to help with the on going maintenance of the garden and will encourage local schools and community groups to make use of the garden.

Place House Hall with its new educational community garden will be a valuable resource and asset to Ware.
